Field guide

How to play

  1. Deal the archive. Fifty-two cards of civic life are shared among the players.
  2. Name the category. On your turn, place one to four cards face down and claim they all belong to the current category.
  3. Open or stand. Each rival may open the record or let it stand. Opening a true claim gives you the pile. Opening a false claim returns the pile to the claimant.
  4. Advance the categories. After a claim is resolved, the next category in the cycle becomes the new claim.
  5. Close the archive. The first player to empty their hand, with the claim still standing or proven true, wins.

You play against computer rivals. Local hot-seat is not offered, so rivals cannot see your cards on the same screen.

First time at the table

Thirty-second brief

  1. On your turn, place 1–4 tablets face down and claim they match the current topic. They don't have to.
  2. After each claim, the next player either opens the record (calls the bluff) or lets it stand.
  3. A caught liar takes the whole pile; a false accusation means the accuser takes it. First to empty their archive wins.
